Vanilla Tart
The simplest of flavors, the easiest recipe, but the greatest of joys.

All you need is:

  • For the base:

    70g cold butter cuted into small cubes (6-7 tbsp).

    1 egg

    25cm or 10inch tart pan

    For the cream:

    350ml cold water (1 1/2 Cup)

    Baking time: 20-25 min (or until golden)

How to Make


1. Preheat oven at 180oC. Mix (in the mixer or by hand) the mix with butter and egg till soft dough forms.

Note: In the beginning the dough will look like sand and the more you mix it the more it will bind together. You should end up with very soft dough, like cookie dough.

2.Spread the dough by pressing with your hands or by rolling with a rolling pin and cover the base and the sides of a 25cm pan.

Bake on the bottom of the oven for 20-25min or until golden. Cool for about 15min before removing from the pan and let to cool completely before adding the cream.

3. Beat the vanilla cream mix with water in medium speed for 2 minutes till a homogenous cream forms. Spread the vanilla cream in the completely cooled tart base and decorate with fresh or canned fruit.
