Ma’moul Cake

Ingredients
- 1 box Betty Crocker™ Vanilla Cake Mix
- 1/3 cup (72g or 80ml) vegetable oil
- 1 cup (230ml) of water
- 2 eggs
For the filling
- 10 pieces of dates “No seeds”
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1 teaspoon ma’moul spices
- 3 teaspoons white or brown sugan
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Topping
- Walnut/referred topping
Preparation
- Heat oven to 180°C.
- Line bottom and side of round pan with cooking parchment paper.
- Grease paper with shortening; lightly flour.
- In medium bowl, stir cake mix, water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box.
- Pour half of the mixture into prepared pan
- Add the dates and mix the chopped walnuts, ma’moul spices, sugar & cinnamon into the mixture then pour the rest of the cake mix.
- Bake until golden.
- Once the cake is done, sprinkle with fine sugar, walnuts, and drizzle with honey to enhance the sweetness and spices.
- Slice and serve this flavorful Date Ma’moul Spice Cake.
