Upside-down Pecan Cake

Ingredients

  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1 box Betty Crocker™ White Cake Mix
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1/3 cup (72g or 80ml) vegetable oil
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1 cup (230ml) of water
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 2 eggs
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1 cup Pecan
  • Small check mark in a circle icon ½ cup butter
  • Small check mark in a circle icon ½ cup brown sugar
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1/3 cup honey
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1 teaspoon vanilla
Topping

Preparation

  1. For the base, mix the pecan, butter, brown sugar, honey, cinnamon & vanilla mix together on pan until the sugar is melted.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180C. grease the pan with butter and lightly flour
  3. Add the cake mix, oil, water and eggs together in a large bowl on a low speed until moistened.
  4. Pour the batter into pan with after the pecan mix was set first.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  6. Cool for 10 minutes and remove from pan
  7. Once the cake is done, flip it onto a simple platter.
  8. Drizzle with honey and caramel, then add the powdered sugar and sprinkle with cinnamon for an elegant finish.
  9. Serve warm, cut into slices to reveal its moist, nutty texture, and enjoy this comforting treat perfect for Ramadan gatherings.
